The band consists of Oscar Alberto Creagh (lead vocal, guitar), Pablo "Pachu" Alfonso (guitar, vocals), Héctor "Hector Ochoa" (bass guitar) and Juan "Juan Carlos Cebrián" (drums). The first two are also responsible for the band's songwriting. It has earned 2 Grammy awards to date. Biography . Formed in Mexico City in 1991, Los Felinos were originally a trio formed by Creagh (lead vocal, guitar), his brother Alfonso (lead guitar) and Cebrian (drums). After the addition of bassist Hector Ochoa, they started playing in Mexico City's underground scene, where they met Daniel Hernandez (aka El Vez), who encouraged them to record their songs at his studio. They completed their lineup after adding Carlos Benavides as manager and Juan Carlos Sánchez as their sound engineer. In 1993 they recorded their first demo, "Funky Felinos", which was very successful in Mexico City. The band started touring the country with a truck that had a cabin built with amplifiers and speakers. In autumn 1994 they participated in a compilation titled "Nueva Ola", which earned them a contract w ith Sony Music. After signing, they released their debut album titled "El Ritual" on January 1, 1995 via Sony Discos. Produced by Oscar McLollie and was recorded at Estudio Tecnico Sónico SRL, San José de los Ángeles, California and Sonora Sound Studio, Los Angeles.. In the year 1995, the band performed at various festivals, including Vive Latino. Los Felinos were co-hosts of the event, along with Los Lobos and The Cure. In March 1996 they released a compilation titled "Carne de Melocotón", which included a previously unreleased song "Eres Mía" and a remix of their first single "El Ritual". On that same year they began recording their second album titled "Luzbelito", which was produced by Cristian Weingarten and recorded at Estudio 4, Mexico City. It was released on October 15, 1996.
